Microsoft SQL Server SP2 Released!

Microsoft has released SQL Server SP2! Wahoo, this has Windows Vista support. BTW, I am having loads of fun trying to get stuff to work properly on Windows Vista. I have been using ArcGIS 9.2 SP1 and ArcGIS Server 9.2 SP1 and I can tell you there are lots and lots of interesting things happening. I will try and post some of these on the weekend. Community Server 2007 b1

I have noticed over the last few months there have been more and more people moving to using Telligent’s Community Server engine for forums and blogging. I have to say it’s only getting better. scrappad at the moment is running Community Server 2.1 on .NET 2.0 and the performance is pretty outstanding. ArcGIS Image Server, Added To EDN!

Heh, this is pretty cool. Rob Elkins who runs EDN (ESRI Developer Network) has just announced that ArcGIS Image Server will now be added to the suite of software products provided to EDN subscribers. Now isn’t that cool? I, myself have not used ArcGIS Image Server. I guess I have not had a need for it as yet. Developer Summit Attendance!

Well I thought I might make a posting about it. I know there are a lot of people expecting to see and meet me at the Developer Summit in Palm Springs this year. I keep getting emails from people asking me if I am going to be attending and chatting to folks, they keep asking me this as well. Well with all the launches that have taken place over the last few months from Microsoft, everyone is still coming up to speed with how things work. Microsoft New Zealand is helping everyone out there by having a 2007, Technical Briefing. This is a one day event which will take place in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch. Microsoft Windows Vista Installed!

Well it’s taken me a while but I have finally got there. Due to applications and other little things that we had to support I couldn’t rush to installed Windows Vista. I start a new enterprise development project on Monday as such I thought it was time for a reinstall to clean out my laptop. Since we haven’t actually done any .NET 1.1 development in a while I thought I would install Windows Vista. I am now running Windows Vista Business Edition on my work laptop. So far its running pretty awesome. Our laptops are pretty grunty machines and we have 2 Gb RAM so the performance is...

For users new to the ESRI Server products and those having a few problems with registration and licensing, ESRI has add more documentation and tutorials to help.
