ArcGIS API For JavaScript 1.6 Now Available

The ArcGIS API for JavaScript 1.6 is now available. This is currently live and can be referenced.

Concepts, samples and reference documentation for the ArcGIS API for JavaScript has been updated as well. There are a few bug fixes along with a some new features.

Some of the highlights of what’s new in this latest release include:

  • Support for Dojo 1.4.1
  • Ability to rename Dojo namespaces
  • Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (102100)

In addition to the enhancements above this latest version contains various bug fixes to improve the stability and performance.

There have also been some updates to the extensions for the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. These include:

The ArcGIS JavaScript Extension for the Google Maps API was updated to add Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (102100) as a supported overlay spatial reference for Google Maps. You can alternatively continue to use Web Mercator (102113) as an overlay spatial reference.

The ArcGIS JavaScript Extension for Bing Maps has not been updated.
