Upgrading Geodatabases With Replicas To ArcGIS 10 Causes The Synchronization Process To Fail
A critical bug has been posted which affects those using ArcGIS 10 and geodatabase replication.
This bug affects ArcGIS 10 customers who use geodatabase replication and have either already upgraded their geodatabase to version 10 or are planning on upgrading their geodatabase to version 10. A serious issue has been found that can cause data corruption and other errors when synchronizing replicas to an Enterprise (ArcSDE) Geodatabase.
This is a critical bug which can cause data corruption and as such the please follow these recommendations:
If an upgrade to version 10 has already be installed, we recommend not synchronizing existing replicas or creating new replicas in the upgraded database at this time.
If an upgrade to version 10 has not been installed, we recommend proceeding with the upgrade but not synchronizing existing replicas or creating new replicas in the upgraded database at this time.
NOTE: There is no workaround for this issue at this time so DO NOT synchronize replicas or create new replicas with ArcGIS 10 until a patch is available. The patch will be mandatory and should be applied to ALL ArcGIS 10 clients. This patch will be coming soon.
