ArcGIS Explorer Running Well On Microsoft Windows 7

I have now got ArcGIS Explorer successfully installed and running well on Microsoft Windows 7. This wasn’t really a big thing to figure out but due to the windows installer bug in Windows 7 beta it caused a few crashes initially. So it basically came down to:

  1. Implementing the fix for the windows installer bug in Windows 7 beta. More information here: http://geo.geek.nz/esri/…
  2. Implementing a few other tweaks. Unfortunately I cannot detail what these tweaks are.

NOTE: Everything above was done for research and development purposes. I have been testing many of the ESRI applications on Windows 7 for my own piece of mind.

Windows 7 is NOT a supported operating system by ESRI and I DO NOT recommend that ArcGIS Explorer be install on Windows 7.

The end result of this all was this:

Some of the experiences in going about getting ArcGIS Explorer installed on Windows 7 can be found in my post here: http://geo.geek.nz/esri/…

I have yet to install ArcGIS Server 9.3 on Windows 7. I am keen to see how this performs and runs. I should be doing this over the next few days and will post about how I get on.
