ArcGIS Ideas Now Launched!
ArcGIS Ideas has now been launched and is available for use. This was first talked about at the ESRI Business Partner Conference 2010.
ArcGIS Ideas lets our customers get involved. You can suggest new products, promote favourite enhancements and interact with ESRI Teams.
So how does ArcGIS Ideas work? A short video provides some insight. This can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/…
Once you have logged in you can navigate to a particular product group.
Here we see all the ideas associated with this product.
You have to option of posting a new idea, voting for existing ideas or discussing ideas with the community.
Within a particular idea you can see the write-up describing the idea. You have the ability to post comments as well as vote for the idea.
Summarising ArcGIS Ideas:
- Is open to all worldwide
- Fosters collaboration
- Is integrated with the resource centers. A link to the web site is now live on http://resources.arcgis.com (bottom right, under Other Resources).
- Another link will be added to the support site at http://support.esri.com (under Community Content in the left hand navigation).
- Uses a community approach to handling enhancement request
- Gathers real-time feedback
- Acknowledges user ideas and provides users feedback on popular ideas.
I think its great that ArcGIS Ideas is now live and available for use. It will allow customers to post their ideas as well as provide feedback which might play a part in future versions of the software. Head over and start posting your ideas today!
