ArcGIS Mobile 9.3 Technical Articles Now Available
ESRI has now started populating the ESRI Support Centre knowledge base with ArcGIS Mobile 9.3 technical articles. These articles are targeted towards the new ArcGIS Mobile Editor application that ships with ArcGIS Server 9.3.
The ArcGIS Mobile Editor is a new out of the box application that allows you to view and manage data in the field. There have been a few questions around how things work and hopefully some of the technical articles posted will aid in answering those questions.
Some of the technical articles that caught my attention were:
- What applications or services are required on my computer to support Mobile ADF samples?
- What data formats are supported by Mobile ADF?
- Convert a screen coordinate to a WGS84 value using the ArcGIS Mobile SDK
- Why are there black artifacts corresponding to areas where my source raster has no data?
- What are the differences between .NET and .NET Compact Framework that affect Mobile ADF developers?
- What are the differences between ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server Mobile ADF data-sharing models?
- When serving large amounts of raster data, can the work with multiple map caches be divided?
- How does the map cache handle raster data?
- Is the Mobile Cache the same thing as the Server Cache? If not, why is it different?
The full listing can be found on the ESRI Support Centre. There seems to be a problem with the link on the main knowledge base page. You can access these articles via this direct link instead: http://support.esri.com/index.cfm…
