Late last week we sent out an email to customers in New Zealand informing them of the some of the changes to licensing with ArcGIS Mobile 10. There are some new and exciting changes so thought I would share this with everyone!

ESRI and Eagle Technology Group Ltd have announced the following licensing changes to ArcGIS Mobile 10:

ArcGIS Mobile is now a feature of ArcGIS Desktop (ArcInfo, ArcEditor, ArcView).  ArcGIS Desktop 10 users are entitled to one (1) ArcGIS Mobile deployment for use in conjunction with their ArcGIS Desktop product.  This means that users can install ArcGIS Mobile on their desktop machine and deploy and ArcGIS Mobile application or an ArcGIS Mobile runtime on one additional devise.

ArcGIS Desktop customers who need additional ArcGIS Mobile deployments for use in conjunction with ArcGIS Desktop, can purchase them in 5-pack deployment bundles.

ArcGIS Mobile is a feature of ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise.  ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise 10 users are entitled to unlimited ArcGIS Mobile deployments for use in conjunction with ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise.  (Note:  Previous versions of ArcGIS Server Enterprise Advanced included the right to 50 deployments).

Note that ArcGIS Mobile 10 includes five (5) key technologies:

  • ArcGIS Mobile Applications (Windows Desktop/Tablet & Windows Mobile)
  • ArcGIS Mobile Runtime
  • ArcGIS Mobile Software Development Kit
  • ArcGIS Mobile Project Center
  • Mobile GP Tools
