ESRI’s ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint is now available. ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint is a set of configurable mapping components that enables SharePoint administrators or contributors to embed an interactive map within Microsoft SharePoint. Users of the site can quickly discover and exploit the geographic aspect of their data using an easy-to-understand map and a coordinated geolist.
ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint is supported on Microsoft SharePoint 2010, enabling users to take advantage of the latest SharePoint technology. The ESRI and Microsoft teams have worked together closely to enable both products to launch simultaneously.
ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint applications have access to global imagery and maps from ArcGIS Online or Bing Maps and operational layers such as SharePoint lists, ArcGIS Server services, and SQL Server 2008 data. Configuration is easy through a set of interactive dialog boxes.
ArcGIS Mapping for Microsoft SharePoint is built on the ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight/WPF. The key features of ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint can be found here: http://www.esri.com/software/…

How is this different to MapIt Sharepoint integration?

Hi Simon, this is the same! Due to the demand from customers for the SharePoint webpart from MapIt, this has now been moved into a product and made been made available to a wider audience.
Interesting…first Bing maps and now Sharepoint. You can say ESRI is now the Microsoft of GIS. (Bloated, overly complex, buggy, expensive;)
