Installing ArcGIS Server 9.3 On Microsoft Windows Vista And Microsoft Windows Server 2008

ArcGIS 9.3 is fully supported on Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008. The full support listing for this can be found here: http://support.esri.com/index.cfm…

Before installing ArcGIS Server on these operating systems there a few features or components that need to be enabled on the server. IIS 7.0 is very modularised which means that installing IIS doesn’t install all the features. You have to manually go in and select the features of IIS that you require.

Chris Whitemore who is one of the Installation Product Engineer’s has provided some tips on how to go about doing this. His write up can be found on the ArcGIS Server Development blog here: http://blogs.esri.com/dev/…

I have also seen this information on the ESRI Resource Centre for ArcGIS Server. The ESRI Resource Centre’s are not public as yet but should be soon.
