ESRI has released a nice white paper which gives you a great insight into ESRI’s Enterprise Licence Agreements.

Just released the document talks about the benefits of an ELA, software and gathering requirements through to shipments, licensing and installations. It also talks about the differences in concurrent use licensing and single use licensing along with technical support and the different tiers. Lastly there is information provided on training and enterprise GIS.

The most common reason organizations like to incorporate their software purchases into an ELA is for the cost savings and centralized procurement. Learn more about ESRI’s ELA program.

Two appendices included are case studies of ELA’s that have been implemented. These are:

FEMA’s GIS Solutions Branch: Agency Central Support Implementation And Manager
USGS Site Licenses: Effective Administration Of A Department-wide Software Enterprise License Agreement

This white paper is a great read for those looking at ELA’s and wanting further information on the topic. You can find the white paper here: http://feeds.esri.com/…

Update: Looks like the ESRI link to the PDF is broken. I took a copy last night and this can be found here: http://geo.geek.nz/files/…
