A few people have been wondering what the ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight would be like. Similar to the ArcGIS API for Flex? Well ESRI has posted a great little video which answers some of these questions. It’s a sneak peak at this new API. Check out the video here: http://downloads2.esri.com/edn/…

The video showcases some of the features of the new API and shows a few examples at work around the integration between your own ArcGIS Server data and Microsoft Virtual Earth.

There are some awesome widgets coming as well which is really going to enhance the rich user experience on the web. The cluster drawing symbols is pretty cool along with the Microsoft Sliverlight animations.

A few other notes:

  • The ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight will be released at the ESRI Developer Summit 2009.
  • ArcGIS 9.3.1 will also include a free trial of Microsoft Virtual Earth content.
