Day 2 At The ESRI Business Partner Conference 2009
The second and last day of the ESRI Business Partner Conference 2009 is now over. As the day overlapped with the ESRI Developer Summit 2009 presummit sessions, there was a big increase in attendees.
There was some great ESRI Developer Summit 2009 presummit sessions to start of the day. An Introduction to ArcGIS Explorer 900 kicked off one of the morning presummit sessions. To save me typing up what was talked about and showcased, Dave Bouwman has already written up about this. Have a read here: http://blog.davebouwman.net/2009/…
Switching back to the ESRI Business Partner Conference 2009, I managed to get along to John Calkins session on Building Demonstrations and Presentation Stories. This was a pretty good session which showed many of the tips and tricks used in ESRI presentations and demonstrations. It also talked about the many crimes that presenters commit and how you can go about fixing them. A great session.
I started off the afternoon attending the presummit session on Developer’s Guide to the Geodatabase and ended up in the Designing and Developing Geoprocessing Tools with ArcGIS. Alot of the stuff demonstrated and talked about in the geodatabase session I was familar with so sitting in on the session for geoprocessing tools came in quite handy. It showed how you can use .NET and Python to accomplish a number of tasks. An enjoyable session.
The afternoon was spent wondering about the showcase and expo area. This wasn’t very big so a quick wander and 10 minutes later it was over. It was great catching up with a number of friends and other colleagues from ESRI. I got a number of the questions I had answered by the different ESRI development teams as well.
The evening ended with a relaxed quiet Kiwi Night. It was a great get together of a number of the New Zealander’s at ESRI as well as the few that made the journey over. All in all a good day. The stage is now set for the big plenary tomorrow where I’m sure there is going to be lots of cool stuff shown off. I have been trying my best to tweet as much as I can. I will be tomorrow as well live from the ESRI Developer Summit 2009 plenary and hope to write up the day’s events in the evening. Be sure to check it out.
