ESRI Developer Summit 2010 Registration And Call For Presentations

After a very successful ESRI Developer Summit 2009 it’s that time of year already to pencil in the date for the ESRI Developer Summit 2010

The time has come for you to punch this event into your iPhone or Blackberry or whatever smartphone you kids are rocking these days. The 2010 DevSummit is six months away, and you probably need to start compiling some justification and planning your trip.

If you are wondering or asking yourself why you should attend? Here are four reasons that the Developer Summit Team came up with:

  • Hear from ESRI developers about the future of the ArcGIS platform.
  • Stay current and competitive with the latest in GIS trends, technology, and capabilities.
  • Build your network of fellow GIS developers and key contacts.
  • Discover best practices, lessons learned, tools, and shortcuts you can put to work right away in your application designs and daily programming.

While you are pencilling in this date, you can also bookmark the registration page. Registrations are now LIVE and you can register for the ESRI Developer Summit 2010 here: http://www.esri.com/events/…

The call for presentations has gone out as well.

Share your work and help your fellow developers out. Whether it’s a clever application, design ideas, code samples, or you want to lead a discussion of some hot developer topic, the DevSummit is the spot to show your stuff. Submit as many ideas as you like, and the developer community will vote to decide what they want to see.

As part of the call for presentations, there has been a bundle of changes to the foramat from last year. What are these?

  • Twice as many presentation slots are available.
  • The presentations are more in sync with the technical workshop agenda, helping attendees make it to both.
  • They’ll take place in centrally-located conference rooms instead of a demo theater setup in the Community Center

The submission deadline is January 15, 2010 with community voting taking place through February 6th, 2010.

You can start sharing your work today here: http://www.esri.com/events/…

The ESRI Developer Summit 2010 is already shaping nicely with lots of planning and work underway already. The changes to the presentations look interesting and should work nicely!

Remember, pencil in that date, register and try and share your work by submitting a presentation :)
