Now that the ESRI International User Conference 2009 has concluded, the focus has moved to our ESRI New Zealand User Conference 2009. This is fast approaching with registrations, call for papers, and sponsorship now open.

The agenda is still be worked out but a draft is now online. We have some excellent content lined up for the Eagle Technology Group Ltd stream so check out the agenda. This can be viewed here: http://www.gisuser.co.nz/html/nzuc/…

Last year we ran a number of pre-conference workshops. These posed to be very popular and as such we will be running them again this year. This year the workshops are all half-day. Information on these can be found here: http://www.gisuser.co.nz/html/nzuc/…

Registration information along with information on the pre-conference registration can be found here: http://www.gisuser.co.nz/html/nzuc/…

From a technology perspective, the focus will be ArcGIS 9.4. There are some substantial improvements coming with ArcGIS 9.4 and I am really looking forward to getting this information out to everyone. There is a nice balance of content between ArcGIS 9.4 and ArcGIS 9.3.1.

Planning for the plenary session is also underway and this is starting to take shape. We have a bundle of great stuff lined up to showcase as well as some awesome keynote speakers. This year we have:

Honorary Maurice Williamson, Minister for Building and Construction, Customs, Statistics, Small Business, Land Information

Lawrie Joran, Director of Imagery Enterprise Solutions at ESRI

Colin MacDonald, Land Information New Zealand Chief Executive

Information on each keynote speaker can be found here: http://www.gisuser.co.nz/html/nzuc/…

This years ESRI New Zealand User Conference 2009 is going to be held in Wellington so get in quick and get some accommodation sorted. Also remember to keep an eye on the ESRI New Zealand User Conference 2009 web site for the most up to date information. This is being updated daily.
