An ESRI Collaborative Code Sharing Environment

James raised this a couple days ago, mentioning that ESRI should implement one of these, be it as part of EDN or som other means. They has started a nice discussion from the lads at ESRI.

Brian has been talking about this and asking about the differnet resources out there that could maybe be used in getting this to work.
In my comment to Brian: http://www.spatiallyenabled.com/2005/09/james_help_me_s.html#comment-9255383, I mentioned that GotDotNet workspace was a really nice workspace enviroment. I also wanted to talk about Sharepoint a bit more, I think this a great workspace enviroment, but not for external enviroments so it wouldnt suit the need.

I’d like to point everyone to DNN if they havent seen this as yet. I believe GotDotNet was built of this and has since been modified. DNN is a free, open source, extensible content management system. Loos like it could be a nice edition to EDN, and this could add to the community. It could provide a bundle of tools for the developers out there to use. Check it out here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/.
