Community Server 2007 b2

It hasn’t taken long since Community Server 2007 b1 came out: http://se7en.co.nz/cms/scrappad/archive/2007/02/19/community-server-2007-b1.aspx, Telligent has announced that Community Server 2007 b2 has been released.

I had Community Server 2007 b1 running. I really liked some of the new features, mainly around the administration side of things. Now that beta 2 has been released I don’t think I will install it. I will wait for the final version.

You can grab the web install version of b2 here: http://communityserver.org/files/folders/betas/entry573111.aspx. Note this version expires on May 15, 2007 and will only work with .NET 2.0. There doesn’t look like much has been added to b2. Some new items from the notice includes:

An overhaul to the profile page. Fixes with the moderation of status email and some SEO best practices have been implemented for the forums.

The best part is that it’s not long until the final of Community Server 2007 is released. Rob has mentioned:

“We are still on schedule to release the official version of Community Server 2007 on April 16th.”
