Well the Developer Summit is now coming to and end. There have been a few updates floating around about some of the sessions that have taken place of over the last two days. Steve has been going pretty well blogging about what’s been happening!
Some of his posts are as follows:
He also was at the .NET SIG. This is normally a good gathering of all the .NET Developers out there. It’s a good way to meet people and catch up about what everyone has been doing. I see from his write up: .NET SIG, he talks about Dave Bouwman’s data binding layer. Using a data binding layer is the way to go. We have done this using hibernate and been able to bind spatial objects for Oracle Spatial. There is a great advantage in using this and it does make life easier once running. Would of been good to see what you have done Dave. In the session I see someone also mentioned or asked about selling the ADF separately. Now this would be interesting. I wonder if ESRI would ever consider this and if they did, I wonder what the cost would likely be. Even if people are asking about this, why bother? The ADF will become obsolete soon once the Javascript API comes into play J
Steve has another turbo write up on Turbo Charging Geodatabase Interactions. He also talks about the Web Services API For ArcGIS Server 9.2. Lastly he talks about Geodatabase Replication. This stuff is really cool so check out his writeup!
Kirk has also made a write up about one of the sessions. ArcGIS Geoprocessing.
Very Spatial has made some updates as well. They talk about the keynote by Gartner as well: http://veryspatial.com/?p=1463 and the keynote by Microsoft: http://veryspatial.com/?p=1466. You can find this podcast information here: http://media.libsyn.com/media/avsp/AVSP_EDS07-Keynotes.mp3
