Catching Up On the Week Ended (26 March – 1st April)

Well it’s been another full on week and I see there are a few interesting things that have been posted. I have been really busy working away on the Java project that I am assigned to. This is making use of the Java ADF and the Enterprise ADF as well. It has been a learning curve as things are different but it has been good. Some annoying things but you find ways to work around it. I guess it really comes down to understanding the whole concept of how the Java ADF works. I think I have a good handle now on how things are ment to work so that is helping. We are still making use of IBM’s RAD...

ArcGIS Server 9.2 ADF Licensing Issue!

Ok I can see from reading James’s post: http://www.spatiallyadjusted.com/2007/03/23/the-webadf-licensing-issue-revisited/, he is not happy with about the fact that the ADF has to be licensed if you want to run it on another machine. I know quite a few people are unhappy about this and as I mentioned in yesterdays post it is a highly debated topic. I also mentioned I cannot really comment on this issue but I can provide some help for people out there that are being affected by it. Rather than complaining now about the issue, I think you have to tackle issue on a project specific basis. I think...

I was catching up on reading the feed this evening and I see there a re a few more updates from d2 and d3 of the Developer Summit. This is normally a good gathering of all the .NET Developers out there. It’s a good way to meet people and catch up about what everyone has been doing. I see from his write up: .NET SIG, he talks about Dave Bouwman’s data binding layer. Using a data binding layer...

Developer Summit d1, Updates!

It’s good to see a few other people blogging and talking about what’s happening at the Developer Summit. I thought I would write up about some of the updates from day one at the Developer Summit. The podcast can be found here: http://media.libsyn.com/media/avsp/AVSP_EDS07-Plenary.mp3 I was waiting for James write up and he finally threw something together which talks about some of the things mentioned in more detail. Extra detail is always good. To add...

So it was onto the Developer Summit which kicked off today in Palm Springs. There were a few things mentioned at the Plenary Session with a number of people presenting and taking part. The Plenary Session was for both the Developer Summit and the Business Partner Conference...
