Over the weekend, the updated ArcGIS API For Flex 1.2 was made available from download from the ESRI Resource Centre for ArcGIS Server. Information about this can be found on my post here: http://mandown.co.nz/esri/…
The ArcGIS API For Flex 1.2 includes a bundle of new features along with a few bug fixes.

The ArcGIS API for Flex 1.2 is now available for download from the ESRI Resource Centre for ArcGIS Server.
Concepts, samples and reference documentation for the ArcGIS API for Flex has been updated as well. There are a few bug fixes along with a number of new features and samples.
Some highlights of what’s new in this latest release include:
Routing using ArcGIS Server 9.3.1. The REST endpoint was updated at ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 to support routing.

For those that use Google Analytics for monitoring their blogs or website, Google opened up access to the Google Analytics API a few weeks ago. Since then there have been a few applications come out making use of this API. One of them is a Adobe Air application called Polaris.

Shortly after the release of ArcGIS 9.3, ESRI released the first public beta version of the new ArcGIS Server 9.3 Flex API. The ArcGIS 9.3 Flex API is built on Adobe’s Flex technology.
The new web GIS tool aims to give developers direct access to ArcGIS Server 9.3. With the Flex API, developers can combine GIS-based Web services from ArcGIS Server with other Web content, which can be displayed in simple, dynamic mapping applications over the Web or on the desktop.

ESRI announced the ArcGIS Server 9.3 Flex API to everyone earlier this year at the ESRI Developer Summit 2008. Since then not much information has been released about the upcoming API. As part of the ESRI Speaker Series as new podcast has been posted which talks about the plans for the new ArcGIS Server 9.3 Flex API.

This was quite a talking point of the ESRI Developer Summit. Due to other presentations on many were not able to get along to see this. Mansour Raad has now made this presentation available.
This API is intended to be released post 9.3 and will be based on the REST protocol and is very closely modeled after the JavaScript API.
